Dr. Michael Ho, BDS, BSC Hons

Dr. Michael Ho is Managing Director of TOPGUM Lane Cove. Dr. Ho's first degree was a Bachelor of Computer Science when in 1984, he graduated with Honors from Sydney University.

This background gave Dr. Ho a wide concept and love of computers which has enabled Dr. Ho to combine Computer Science and Dentistry in his family and general practice.

After working in the area of Computer Science for 1 1/2 years and missing people-contact, Dr. Ho then undertook a career change, graduating from Sydney University in Dentistry in 1991. Whilst completing his final year of his Dental Degree, Dr. Ho was the recipient of The Oral-B Foundation Award for Research in Preventive Dentistry. This once-only award was presented to Dr. Ho in recognition of his contribution in furthering the goals of preventive dentistry. This was the first such award given to a Sydney University Graduate. Since graduation, Dr. Ho has practised dentistry for twelve years, eleven of which have been in his own practice in Pennant Hills, delivering dental care to a wide clientele, including general family dentistry and orthodontics to adults and children. Dr. Ho has a gentle and fun rapport with children and these strengths have enabled a visit to the dentist to become fun.

Dr. Ho became an avid user of CEREC CAD CAM System and he was one of the earliest dentists in Australia to use this exciting technology and was the first dentist in Australia to introduce CEREC 3 in practice. This system enables Dentists to produce ceramic restorations with computer assistance, which can be delivered in one appointment. With his experience in this area, Dr. Ho remains in the forefront of this area, providing highly aesthetic dentistry.

Dr. Ho is committed to long-term oral health and dental aesthetics. The personal needs and comfort of his patients are his priorities.

Dr. Ho is dedicated to continuing education, giving him an increased knowledge, thereby elevating the standards of dentistry and this he imparts to his wide range of patients. He is committed to staying up to date by taking advantage of the latest technology in dentistry in order to provide his services to the highest quality and with the greatest comfort.

Dr. Ho was the President of the Recent Graduate Committee for many years after his graduation and Secretary of the AAAD from 2000 to 2001.

Dr. Ho has a generosity of spirit which becomes evident in his dealings with family, friends, patients and colleagues. Dr. Ho's professional, gentle and humble demeanour make him the epitome of the "Family Dentist".
